Audiological evaluation consists of:

  • Pure tone threshold measures- the lowest level a tone is heard for frequencies between 250 hz to 8000 hz.
  • Bone Conduction Threshold- Using a bone oscillator placed the level of the mastoid process, it is the lowest level the listener is able to hear a tone presented for frequencies between 250hz to 4000hz.
  • Speech Recognition Threshold (SRT)- The lowest level at which two syllable speech words are detected.
  • Word Recognition Score (WRS)- The suprathreshold level at which the listener is able to identify fifty percent word presentation.
